Good news for aspiring railway recruits! The Railway Board has issued immediate orders for the recruitment of 18,799 Assistant Loco Pilots (drivers). Instructions have been recently sent to all zonal railways’ general managers by the Railway Board.
The Railway Recruitment Board invited online applications for Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment from January 20 to February 19, 2024. The railway increased the number of positions to 18,799 for this recruitment, a decision aimed at reducing the burden of overtime duty on drivers and minimizing human errors leading to accidents.
The Railway Board has issued immediate orders for the recruitment of 18,799 Assistant Loco Pilots, allowing all applicants to revise their choices in their application forms. This increase in vacancies has brought a wave of happiness among candidates, potentially employing more young people now.
In the Indian railway sector, there are vacancies for various positions across different zones. Central Railway has 1783 vacancies, Central East Railway has 76, East Coast Railway has 1595, Eastern Railway has 1382, North Central Railway has 802, and Northeast Railway has 143 vacancies.
Northeast Frontier Railway has 428 vacancies, Northern Railway has 499, Northwest Railway has 761, South Central Railway has 1949, South East Central Railway has 3973, and South Eastern Railway has 1001 vacancies. These numbers reflect the current opportunities available for recruitment in the respective railway zones.
Similarly, South Railway has increased its vacancies to 726 positions, South West Railway has 1576 positions, West Central Railway has 729 positions, and Western Railway has 1376 positions.
