SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two tiers:

Tier I

• Computer-based objective-type examination
• Four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude
• Total questions: 100
• Total marks: 200
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Negative marking: 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer

Tier II

• Computer-based objective-type examination
• Paper I: Quantitative Abilities (Statistics for Junior Statistical Officer post)
• Paper II: English Language and Comprehension
• Paper III: Finance and Accounts Officer/Assistant Audit Officer
• Paper IV: Economics and Statistics

Note: The exact pattern and syllabus for Tier II will vary depending on the post applied for.

SSC CGL Selection Process

1. Tier I Examination: Candidates must qualify in Tier I to be eligible for Tier II.
2. Tier II Examination: Candidates who qualify in Tier I will appear for Tier II.
3. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): For certain posts, a CPT will be conducted.
4. Descriptive Test (DT): For some posts, a descriptive test in English/Hindi will be conducted.
5. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in all stages will be called for document verification.
6. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear document verification will undergo a medical examination.
