Consumers associated with the National Food Security Scheme will have their biometric e-KYC done through a POS machine at the ration dealer’s shop. Some ineligible people are still benefiting from free ration materials. The government has implemented this system to prevent any ineligible persons and fraud. Everyone must complete the e-KYC by June 30. Those who do not complete e-KYC by this date will no longer receive ration materials.
Under the new system, all members must go to their ration dealer’s shop and complete KYC by providing a biometric fingerprint. Those who cannot offer a fingerprint will have their KYC done through an iris scanner. Eligible individuals must be physically present at the ration shop for KYC. Following complaints about ration distribution, the department has issued an order that all district supply officers must ensure e-KYC is completed by June 30, 2024.
As per the Supreme Court’s order, e-KYC is being conducted for all consumers in the state. All consumers must complete e-KYC before June 30. The respective dealer can also complete the e-KYC for other family members of the member coming to collect wheat through the POS machine. Necessary provisions have been made in the POS machines at the fair price shops to conduct e-KYC for eligible beneficiaries under the Food Security Act.

Documents required for Ration Card e-KYC
To complete e-KYC for the ration card, having an Aadhaar card is mandatory. Beneficiaries under the Food Security Act must take their Aadhaar card and ration card to the ration dealer. All members listed on the ration card must complete e-KYC before June 30, which will be done by the ration dealer using a POS machine.
If your Aadhaar card does not have biometric updates, ensure to get them updated first. After updating, visit the ration dealer to complete your biometric e-KYC.
