Initially, the Railway was not prepared to recruit for paramedical positions, considering hiring contract employees instead. However, due to pressure from recognized organizations, there are plans to recruit for these vacant paramedical positions.
This is a significant recruitment drive for the Railway after a long time, with approximately 100,000 Group D positions to be filled. The age limit for General category candidates is likely to be 18 to 33 years, with an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
